Business Ethics in CSR

Title: Business Ethics in CSR
Authors: Birkvad Bernth, Camilla; Houmøller Mortensen, Kasper; Calles, Mark Benjamin; Wind, Martin; Saalfeldt, Rie
Abstract: This project seeks to dissect the advent of CSR in business practice from the view of ethics. We perform this by laying out the theories of CSR, business ethics, deontology and utilitarianism. We then use the case studies of Lundbeck, The Body Shop, and British American Tobacco, to dissect some productions of CSR. These are compared to the above mentioned theories on ethics. We conclude that business ethics and CSR are only as good as the ethical base upon which they are built.

Title: Death Drive
Authors: Stühler, Rebekka Hellstrøm
Abstract: The aim of this project is to investigate why the Freudian term
Death Drive is not acknowledged in modern psychological
therapy. On basis of psychoanalytical theory and through a
literary analysis, the project will present a discussion of the
significance and presence of the term within these practises.

Authors: Jensen, Anna; Jensen, Sophie; Jensen, Ea; Steen, Emilie; Jacobsen, Gudrun
Abstract: Abstract
Since the year 2000 the amount of jobs, occupied by people with an academic background in Denmark, has highly increased. The main focus of the project has been to study the choice of education among four university students. By the time they finish their education, all four will be able to get a job that is rated and viewed as one of the most prestigious professions, according to an investigation published in the Danish weekly newsletter, A4.
The authors have personally interviewed the four students and thereafter processed the empirical data using the theories of the French sociologist, Pierre Bourdieu and the German sociologist, Thomas Ziehe.
The four students all express a form of discursive hierarchy in the education system, which puts the academic educations on top of this hierarchy. The students are humble and aware of not talking prestigiously about themselves, but without realising they are all contributing to the discursive hierarchy anyway. It is peculiar how the young students pursue recognition without wanting to admit to this notion. This could very well be due to the Danish ‘jantelov’, which let the authors to create a new practice: The ‘jantelov practice’. This means that they do not want to show off their possessions of practices, as it is frowned upon to pursue prestige.
We also discuss how the four students understand the difference between expectations, and pressure from their surroundings regarding their choice of education. Furthermore, it is discussed what these four students find valuable. This shows that there is a clear tendency, that academic intelligence is regarded as a resource that is not to be “wasted” by not attending university.

Pigen der ikke ville dø

Title: Pigen der ikke ville dø
Authors: Pedersen, Fie Freja Wärn; Larsen, Amalie Louise; Hansen, Matilde Emilie; Olsen, Hanne Kjær; Jakobsen, Ditte Ravn
