| Abstract: | This project’s primary focus is on the historical debate concerning the Danish crusades/raids to Wendland in the 12th century. We wish to research the scholarly discussions of whether these missions against the Wends are to be classified as either crusades or just plain raids. Secondly we wish to investigate to which extent the missions were fueled by religious motives. |
